Brief
A need was identified for a simple, reliable and consistent self-watering system after realizing how much time and commitment is needed to keep container plants healthy. Initial research showed there was room in the market place for a better self-watering system.

Outcome
After a number of brainstorming sessions one idea emerged as the clear winner - A reservoir system combined with wicking material to reliably transfer water to the soil. A wicking material was sourced and test rigs were set up under the close eye of leading horticulturalist, Arnie Rainbow. Once the system was patented, after several design approaches, the early prototype evolved using far east moulders. Herb Pot was Silver Winner in the Garden Sundries catergory at the DIY/Housewares Product of the Year awards - May 2010. (diyweek / product of the year)
